Calam: The Second Age
Nordic style larping in Belgium
Calam is an Arthurian inspired larp, played over the course of a weekend.
The great wars are over. The plague has passed.
All seemed peaceful, trade was picking up, but then strangers arrived from beyond Elmork
Forest, once called Demonwood.
- Gaerwood, once a duchy of the Kingdom of Calam, is now it's own Kingdom.
- Firar, once called Barbarians, have their own safehaven within the Oaksdale duchy
- The Pirates have taken a part of the Rocksend duchy, and crowned one of their own King!
- And in the Leikland duchy, farmers are revolting.
How will you help shape the future?
Step into a grounded, low-fantasy world where your choices matter.
What is Calam?
Calam is a player-driven, high-immersion larp set in the Kingdom of Calam and
its neighbouring lands.
You play (initially) ordinary people, who've decided to step up, and make choices that will influence the future of the world.
Calam is a weekend-long, story-focused larp with:
- Nordic style: Play to lift, play to lose mentality.
- Language: English (most organisers are Dutch-speaking, but the game itself is fully in English).
- When: Weekend events, Friday evening until Sunday noon, at least twice a year.
- Focus: Immersion, character drama, politics, faith, and gritty but cinematic combat.
- Magic: Only through rituals. No fireballs or lightning bolts.
The World in a Nutshell
The story takes place in and around the Kingdom of Calam, a realm recovering from civil war between Calam and Gaerwood, and a deadly plague.
After some 100 years of peace, the Kingdom of Calam seems to prosper.
But is all as good as it looks on the surface? Are old feuds really forgotten?
Something is lurking in the shadows.
That’s where you come in. Your actions will shape the world.
- Arrive Friday evening, get into costume, meet your allies and rivals.
- Play from Friday night to Sunday noon, with scenes by firelight, tense talks, rituals, scouting, sneaking, and battles with larp-safe weapons.
- In-character camping and cooking: tents, fires and shared meals as part of the world.
- Stories that continue: the world remembers what you did, even if your character doesn’t survive.
Calam 3.4 - Unexpected Consequences
After our last event ended, our heroes are scattered. Sir Robert De Courtenay is still captured by Leikland troops.
- When: TBD
- Where: De Kluis, Sint-Joris-Weert, BELGIUM
